1 September 2005 Radar Screensaver 1.70 has been released Xander Zerge has released a new version of the Radar Screensaver - a fabulous radar simulation screensaver for Windows. This screensaver accurately simulates a radar watching the skies. New version introduces a feature which can make it more useful than just screen saving utility. In "On-screen message" mode it will not close as usual screensaver when someone moves a mouse or presses keys on keyboard. It will display a message which could be prepared by computer owner. Another innovation is "Satellite-powered identification system" which acquires satellite photo from a satellite, recognizes detected object and displays its photo. New Radar Screensaver has been made more compatible with wider range of graphics cards - its graphics engine is now based on OpenGL. As its previous version, the Radar Screensaver 1.70 has a lot of settings which allow the user to configure it in many ways. These include air traffic intensity, antenna rotation speed, bi-directional antenna, cloud/terrain noises, object information markers, sector displays, five scaling grid sets, realistic geometric distortions, variable colors, AWACS mode, detection logs, sounds and path tracking lines. Radar Screensaver supports multi-monitor PC configurations. It can display same or different situations on all of the monitors, connected to PC. 3 September 2004 Radar Screensaver 1.60 Release Xander Zerge released a new version of Radar Screensaver 1.60. It is a radar simulation screensaver for Windows. The Radar Screensaver simulates a screen of radar in operation. It show the image that represents a main circular radar display with the rotating beam, object marks and four sector displays. There are also terrain/clouds reflection noises, terrain contour map, and object markers. Real geometric distortions are simulated precisely, that appear as the image blurring. Four grid sets are available to be shown over radar screen. Each object mark detected may be supplied with a digital marker, containing information about distance, speed, course of it. To eliminate a phosphor burnout, colors of the all elements are variable during animation and can be selected by user. Another exciting feature is the multi-monitor configuration support. The screensaver can be easily configured to display same or different situations on all of the monitors, connected to PC. The Radar Screensaver can produce some sounds after each object detection. Almost all of the screensaver settings are adjustable. These are antenna rotation speed and direction, traffic intensity, colors of all of the elements, desired animation resolution and smoothness in fps. The elements of animation and sounds can be enabled or disabled to produce the configuration you like. Unique and originally looking feature is the "Bi-directional antenna mode" that will show two opposing rotating beams instead of one.
